The dark woods earned it's name well, for that was exactly what it was. It was an eerie, ebony forest that echoed silence eternally, making it even more ominous. Yet, Slawter found a strange comfort in the darkness, for it seemed to dance around her white body in a dance that sang simply of chaos and dementia. It revolved around her, and Slawter basked in that. She knew what she was, the world had better damn well know as well.
Her heavy paws moved with a surprising grace, carry the large white body with a pride that could not go unnoticed. Slawter had to admit, sometimes wandering aimlessly like so was tiring for the mind; It was just boring, and there was no thrill. She couldn't feel the bloodrush she adored and thrived for; Not even her adreneline. The moon was only a sliver of light in the sky, barely lighting the dim woods. The dark hue of the tree's did no good in hiding Slawters snow pelt, though she didn't mind. She could handle herself, she really could. Other's should tremble in her prescence.
Slawter was suddenly alert when she saw something of her color dart to her right. She turned her head fast to see a white rabbit racing through the forest floor, and she was immediatly behind it. Her powerful legs pushed her forward with brute strength, and her speed joined in soon after. Her legs rippled with the sudden use of energy, and she smiled as she quickly caught up with the hare. With a mighty leap forward, she caught the rabbit's tail. Her paws skidding to a stop, the rabbit dangling from her mouth, fidgeting and flailing widly. Slawter growled, a deep rippling sound ripping through her throat.
She dropped it quickly and stomped a paw onto it's neck, watching it tremble beneath her touch. Right now, Slawter had the entire world in her paws, under her ivory claws. She controlled life or death, pain or bliss.
What an exhilerating feeling was it!
"Hey there, you little piece of shit," Slawter cooed, bending her head close to the face of the hare, cocking her head, a sadistic smile plastered to her lips, bared, revealing her long, white canines. She snapped at the face, and felt the prey flinch unwillingly, as though nature. Her nature was to rip its throat out, and eat it right there. But she was more than an animal, she was much better. She liked to have a show, that was known. Slawter smirked and clamped her jaws over one of the hare's back paws, chewing it, listening to the screeching of her victim. She cackled loudly at this, her smirk widening. The blood in her mouth was liquid copper; heavy, bitter and sweet. She began to feel the thrill now she was looking for! She let go of the rabbits paw, and took her foot off the neck of it. It tried to hop away, but it was clearly missing a good half of a leg.
Slawter laughed wildely, her head aimed toward the sky. She pranced now to where the creature was, and grabbed it's ears in her mouth. She began to shake her head, the bunny now a ragdoll in the mouth of a great predator; In the mouth of it's god. She let go and heard a thump as the rabbit hit a tree, and she wandered over to it, smiling cruelly. "Bye, bye, beautiful."[ Slawter whispered, before ripping into the neck of the rabbit, letting it finally die. It would rot someday, Slawter thought to herself.
Her white muzzle was now stained red, her teeth dripping with that crimson she lived for.
It would rot someday... What a beautiful thought.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af20/burnscandles/HMID_zps16fb2d74.png] Hades was in a foul mood. Today had not exactly gone well for him. Hades had found himself in an argument with one of his knights this morning over a stupid, trifle little thing which had subsequently led to his current state of mind. He didn't want to be near anyone at this moment, preferring rather to stalk off alone.
Mindlessly he wandered and eventually his paws had unwillingly led him to the edge of the Dark Woods where he stood now, admiring the sheer (in his eyes) beauty of the place. It was a cold and macabre place, a place where Hades felt right at home. Of course, he liked the pack's cozy little home enough but every now and then he liked to go back to the types of places he would haunt before, unleash a little bit of the monster inside of him again. As he stepped past the tree line, the change was immediate. He became the old Hades again, the cold and cruel beast. A perverse joy traveled through his being as he felt his problems and responsibilities slowly ebb away and he became the real Hades again. If it was just for an afternoon, he was fine with that but for now, he reveled in being able to be this version of himself again.
Walking with confident ease, he strode through the forest. Sometimes it was as easy as flicking a switch for Hades. One minute he could be the responsible King, tending to his pack and keeping a level head and the next, he'd be back to the cunning creature that still occasionally lurked in the shadows. He thought now of what would happen if he did, by chance, stumble on another canine at this moment. Hopefully, it'd be something like a stupid half-wit he could take advantage of. Yes, a wicked smile graced his lips, what I need in my life right now is a little bit of entertainment.
And it wasn't long before he did find exactly what he was looking for. But oh? He smelled blood. He was particularly fond of bloodshed for the simple fact that it meant opportunity. An opportunity for pain? Or an opportunity for pleasure? Hades had come to realise that they were one in the same thing.
As he drew closer, he heard laughter. The smell of blood and laughter were often two things that went together very well in Hades' opinion, he was very much starting to like what lay ahead. When he arrived to where the other canine was, it caught him a little off guard. She was a impressive beast, large and formidable. Experience had taught Hades that the big ones usually aren't the bright ones. She hadn't noticed him yet which bode well for Hades' plan. He looked to her side to find a mangled piece of flesh. It was, at some point, a rabbit but the crimson oozing from it's neck and leg had stained the fluffy fur and the snow beneath where it lay a deep ruby colour - a blood red stain on the snow.
Quietly and confidently, Hades strode to her side, not looking directly at her, rather keeping his eyes forward. He inclined his head towards the carcass and spoke "This one has a tendency for death, I see". The arrogance radiated from his tone but at this point, it was exactly what he wanted. He knew this was risky. He knew he could not beat this dog if it came to a physical fight but when the monster takes over, nothing could be said for rationality.

Well, well, well, what do we have here? She smelt him before she heard him, but the scent of blood simply blinded her nose to the fact she wasn't alone. There was another canine watching her, and by the seems of it was enjoying the morbid sight. Slawter's head shot up at the sound of his voice, her ears standing tall on her head, her stained muzzle baring her teeth. Her lips pulled in a growl, though it only remained a sneer. He spoke to the rabbit, of Slawter... How insulting, she was right there. He never met her eyes, once.
Both bore white pelts, though Slawter felt no connection like other, more petty canids might do so. She felt a sudden loathing intrigued feeling about this male. "Well, well, looks like this one doesn't have enough respect to acknowledge a beast before his eyes,"
|
[/b] Slawter mimicked, taunting, her voice simply mocking. Who did he think he was? Ignoring a beautiful dangerous creature as herself! Instead, he showed attention to the prey now slaughtered. What a dick, she thought to herself. In some, cruely way, though, that was her time of man. Slawter stood tall now, letting her sneer be replaced by a smirk. Her chest puffed out, showing pride. "Enjoy the show?" Slawter cooed, cocking her head almosy innocently. She was far from, of course, and she wasn't acting, nor trying to be something she wasn't. It was what her mind let her do; She was flexible, and astute, and that benefited her. However, still, a demonic glint shone in her eye. It was spiteful, yet interested. A strange creature she was, indeed. None could deny that; She was murderous, yet somewhere deep down had morals, consisiting only of loyalty... Emphasis, on the deep down. Slawter let her long, powerful legs carry her toward the white shepherd dog with a surprising grace. Her tail hung low and swung from side to side. What kind of game might this turn into? No, Hades. You are King now, you have a home and a pack to look after, for god's sake what are you doing? But oh, letting the monster out felt ever so sweet. How many times had he done this sort of thing on a whim, how many times had he exhibited reckless behavior without any regard for his life? But that was before all of this, before he had to concern himself with more than just one dog. But Hades, oh Hades, you're oh so lovely when you're evil. He agreed, this suited him well.
He cocked his head and raised what would have been an eyebrow. "Ah, and she has spirit too, I see" a wicked smile playing on his face. He looked her directly in the eyes now. He cold see her feigning innocence, that malicious glint to her eyes. He recognized that look for it mirrored his own. There was something about the female that he couldn't quite place, but it intrigued him nonetheless. Hades considered himself a good judge of character but this one? He couldn't tell where he stood with her. Friend or foe? All Hades knew is that, should he have the choice, he would very much like her to be a friend. She showed true bloodlust, a trait that Hades admired.
With her sarcastic remarks and witty statements, Hades could tell that she was not as dull as he had originally presumed. Perhaps he could have an intellectual conversation with her yet? "Well, it was quite a show indeed, my lady. I'm not one for bloodshed myself. I do so enjoy observing but I'd rather not participate. You've provided me with great entertainment this evening", he said with a malicious, toothy grin on his face, eyes dark.
"I do believe introductions are in order." Always one for politeness, he bowed his head and momentarily lost eye contact in a curt nod. To those who didn't know better or were too stupid to guess, Hades came across as a gentleman and he prided himself on this. His poison words always laced with sugar, he could always talk or act his way in to anything. "I am Hades, King of the city. And what might this lovely creature call herself?"

Slawter rolled her eyes and smirked. Yes, she had spirit. It was undeniable. She was known for her determination and will to keep going. Her determination was dangerous, and that made her dangerous. And, she was. She was also feared in many areas around this place, only feeding her ego more. A low rumble that was forced as a chuckle escaped Slawter's head. He was a strange one, indeed. She found herself wanting to tear his throat out, yet get to know more of who he was. A contradiction Slawter seemed accustomed to.
"So you get pleasure from watching others murder so mercilessly? My, you are quite the character," Slawter slurred her words, raising her brows with honest curiosity. That smile of his, teeth showing, was much like Slawter's own. Both showed malice, spite, yet a mututal friendliness between them. Were they perhaps teasing eachother, having just met? It was a strange ideal that only drew Slawter in more. He wasm put simply, one Slawter wanted to get to know more.
Despite his being a dick only moments ago, he seemed polite enough. His politness, however, was limited. It was cruel all the same. Two traits that clashed... In a rather attractive way to Slawter. His name was Hades, and he was a 'king', so he said. Slawter however didn't really doubt it. "Hades, king of the underworld, as well."
|
[/b] Slawter winked. She then lifted her head high. "My calling is Slawter. In time, I assure you it is... Most fitting."[/b] Slawter recited that sentance, for it was her motto almost. She said that every time she met someone, letting them have a sneakpeak of who she was. In time, some might grow on her. Perhaps Hades would, as well. There was something about her that made him trust her. Perhaps it was her charm or the snide comments he had a tendency for that made him realise that they were, in fact, not so different from each other. They both enjoyed death, they both had ambition and there were those undercurrents of something else. It was a fierce loyalty that she possessed. It was then that he made the decision.
From her behavior and the fact that she had yet to defend herself or her dignity that indicated to Hades that she was previously unaffiliated. He was about to change that. "Walk with me" he said as he slowly turned and began to make his way through the snow at a leisurely pace. Thankfully, it wasn't too thick here as most of the snow had accumulated on the tops of the trees which left only a layer of dry, hardened snow on the ground. The black bark of the bare trees were a stark contrast to the unsoiled snow that, in so many ways, felt right. It was an eerie contrast that was both beautiful but frightening to the lesser dog. The scene was strangely appropriate, he thought to himself.
Without checking whether the other canine was following or not, he began to speak. "Oh, my lady, I don't doubt that it's a fitting calling. And yes, King Of The Underworld would perhaps be a fitting title. Because that is exactly what this place is. An Underworld. The city is where my pack calls home and like the Underworld, it is cruel and a difficult place to survive. But it has potential. I see a future where The Ragdogs rule a beautiful city. A kingdom, no longer a prison."
"But, of course, I cannot do this alone. I need someone at my side." He had hoped that she would understand where he was going with his little speech. But she was a clever dog, she should pick it up soon enough that he planned to make her his Hand. He had hoped she would oblige.

Slawter normally would simply deny anyone who dared demanded her to do something. However, Hades request for her following him was obeyed; Not because of loyalty, not yet. Not because of fear. Simply because of curiosity. She wanted to see what this male truly wanted from her; What would he tell her, request of her... Offer her?
When he spoke, it was all deep, and poetic. Yet it rang flawlessly of truth within it. This hell was an underworld, a sort with the living. It was the sort where needles pinned bugs to the ground, allowing them to spin and spin, but never break free without them comitting unwilling suicide. Such a dangerous, beautiful but ugly world. It really was a prison.I cannot deny your words truth, Hades. His name rolled off her tongue and in the ease, Slawter found herself quiet fond of the name. Hades, yes. The third of three brothers, the other two having wronged him. How was this shepherd dog before Slawter wronged? I quite look forward to the day you come to me with the news of your conquering pack, Slawter winked.
Hades next words make Slawter's ears perk forward, a sly smile creasing into her face. Ear to ear, she pressed on with their small conversation. Yeah? Is that sooo?
|
[/i]Slawter dragged the words on, showing she knew what he meant; She felt herself excited at the idea. Right Hand of the feared Ragdoll Royale? What a thought. She wanted to hear Hades ask, though. She wanted to know his desire true. Would he regret it one day, though? Slawter didn't dare think so far, but he seemed worthy of such title, called alpha. I too look forward to that day, m'lady. But the thing is, I can't help but believe that day would come sooner with you at my side. I'll say it plainly, Slawter. I want you as my Hand. Together we could be great. Canines across the city will cower in fear at the mention of our names.
It was a strange notion that he would ask this dog to join him so soon. He barely knew her but for some strange reason, he trusted her. Quite honestly, he'd never done anything like this before. Yes, he'd worked with other dogs but it'd always only been brief affairs. A simple manipulation to get what he wanted. Never before had he actually made a pact with someone long term. Maybe he was making a mistake? He hardly had experience as a leader, he had not yet learned true loyalty. A cocky attitude and smooth words could only get a dog so far. At this point, all he knew was that, should the time eventually come to conquer, he would want to have Slawter standing at his side. Should she stay as Hand of the King until their last days? Or will this too be something brief and would they end up betraying each other to further their own needs? How foreign this whole scenario felt.
The day was growing long and evening was steadily approaching but still Hades walked side-by-side with Slawter. He turned his face towards his company, his face grave and serious. So tell me, Slawter. What is your answer? His gaze did not falter from Slawter as he stopped walking. Head held high and posture proud, he waited for her answer.

How strange! At the request for his right hand, Slawter felt... Giddy. She felt a deadly pride swell in her chest, and in her mind. A smile stretched from ear to ear, much like the famous cheshire cat. Teeth bared, she let her eyes meet Hades', feeding her senses. This was not just an alpha not, but in a way, they were equals. Slawter had not expected this meeting to take such a turn, as to a pact such as this. However, as Slawter began to consider it, she thought longer and harder.
Slawter would never have accepted this from anyone else. She would have slaughtered them there and claim the rank for their own. But Hades had her intrigued. She felt like they would make eachother better and stronger... If she had declined, Slawter would feel sorry for him, for he would never be anymore than he is now. If Slawter killed him right here, she would have his rank, but neither would she become greater! However, put the two together... Yes, their name would be known far and wide. Their names, in the same sentance, would be a death wish. Though Slawter knew little loyalty- she killed her own parents, for fuck sake!- she felt like Hades would shine a whole new light to her strength, as she would his.
Hades asked for her answer; She had taken awhile pondering the idea. He stopped then, his eyes trained on hers. Slawter stepped a few more steps ahead, and turned around so they were face to face. Hades, consider this a dawn to a new and glorious age, Slawter slurred her words together again, giving them a bitter sweet ring. As her answer, she dipped her head ever so low, a small gesture. Yes, it sang. Slawter was the Right Hand dog of the Ragdoll Royale- It really was a new dawn.

With you and I together, nothing will stop The Ragdog Royale. A malicious laughter escaped him at that, just the sheer thought of the possibilities filled him with such a vicious pride, such devilish desire that he couldn't quite hold it together. Yes, he felt it, the monster was back again. And that monster on the inside that haunted him for years, the escape, the mechanism his subconscious created to deal with everything, was finally getting what it wanted. It wanted power, it wanted to rule with an iron fist and let no one stand in it's way.
Slawter, you should think yourself lucky to be called the Hand. But power does not come without responsibility. There it was again, that sly, cocky attitude because, quite frankly, he had a tendency to show his happiness this way. And he was happy, for the first time since his mother's death, he was honest-to-god happy. We are meager still, but others are slowly joining our ranks. Weight weighs on your shoulder now, m'lady. The pack will look up to you as they do me.
And there it was, two powerful beings now bound together by loyalty. Nothing could stop them now for together they will be great. Hades knew this. He knew that his life will be forever different from here on out. With Slawter at his side, he felt a subtle shift in his fate, her fate, the fate of the entire pack. Formalities first. Allow me to officially welcome you to the Ragdogs, Slawter. He said in perhaps the smoothest voice he could muster and bowed his head in formality. We have much to talk about.
