GULLIVER «

Gulliver is an attractive canine to say the least. That doesn't mean she goes off, flaunting it though. I wouldn't exactly say she's beautiful or has the sex appeal that males look for. She's got more of a natural beauty that's not over whelming. Like a puppy in ways. Everyone thinks puppies are cute, but they wouldn't think of them as more than puppies. That's the way I would think of this dog. She's cute, but you may find yourself having issues seeing her as more than Gulliver the crazy dog.

The dog's body is built with long legs and, if it weren't for her heavy feathering, you may just think she looks like a dog on unnatural stilts. Her chest is deep for endurance, just as she was bred to be, and her body is slightly longer than it is tall. Her fur is a midnight black: not as black as the inside of your eye lids, but not a super light black either. Her eyes are a pretty light brown and her eyes are almond shaped. Her snout ends with a big, wet nose and her ears fall to frame her face neatly.

Gulliver is not your average canine. In fact, the dog wouldn't be caught dead on the streets if it was the last thing she wanted, but here she is. On the streets. Where she's actually quite shamed to be. She has an unhealthy dependence on others, so it's really not a huge leap that she does enjoy the company of humans. Seeing how she's been kicked to the curb, however, recently she's shifted her attention to depending on other canines for her needs. Honestly, she probably wouldn't get anywhere without the pack she's joined just because she's that kind of dog.

The flat coat is usually just a quiet, normal dog you see that keeps to herself when she's either in a situation she's uncomfortable with or when she doesn't really feel like approaching someone with conversation. However, she's got a very different side to her as well. In fact, she's a bit of a nut if you actually take the time to study her. When she's approached with a new situation she has one of two reactions: either she becomes excited easily, or she becomes frightened easily. She's a bit like a rabbit where you have to be very subtle with your movements. Though she may not be actively fleeing, you can't exactly blame her for her actions. She tends to act on a whim so you may find yourself with a bite in the butt if you're not careful around her. She's a lot like a ticking time bomb with her flighty ways.

Gully has a few major quirks that any canine would be able to clearly point out. For one, she's got an obsession with the number seven. She circles seven times before laying down, when she speaks she always nods her head seven times after speaking, and she even will flick her ears seven times total before finally allowing herself to sit. Yes, she works a bit weird and I'm sure many will notice her dependence on the number seven, however it's not her biggest quirk. When she gets really anxious she finds ways to busy herself and tends to ignore others. She's one of those canines that can only focus on one thing at a time. Whether that be talking to a canine or something else. And she hates the act of hunting down to her core. She sees it as violence and she tries to avoid violence. So she tends to scavenge so she will live. She doesn't particularly like eating an animal recently killed, but until she can find a way to become a vegetarian dog, she knows she's stuck eating what she can to stay alive.

The dog has a tendency of being overly sensitive and, therefore, doesn't quick understand joking or laughter. In fact, she's never really laughed. Sure, she's heard her past owner laugh, but the noise always startled her and, therefore, she found it be a bad thing. So she's never expressed more than a smile. You could say she's a bit like a stone statue at times and I would agree you're not that far off. When chatting with others, she'll either be very comfortable with it and be willing to say more than a 'hi' or she might be so uncomfortable with it that she won't speak a word. She's the kind of dog that's not really predictable. She is a social dog. It just depends on the day as to whether she'll go looking for a conversation or try to steer clear of it. And, with her, it could probably go any way.


STRENGTHS: she's easy to pity, hardly gets in trouble, highly intelligent underneath the crazy.
WEAKNESSES: spooks easily, doesn't adjust to new things easily, dependent on other canines.

Gulliver was born in the times of the humans and she grew up as working dog. Her master wasn't particularly affectionate, but he wasn't mean either and he fed the dog a decent portion of food on a good hunting day. It's quite funny, though, because when her human died and she was shuffled onto a new hunting farm, she began to resent hunting due to the revolting way this family dealt with killing the animals the dog was expected to retriever. After about a week of having to retriever such nasty prey and being dealt the meat from these animals she retrieved for dinner, the dog protest by disobeying. That's when the family decided to dump her.

It was a few months past her second birthday when they dumped her. So she hadn't been on the streets long when the human race was destroyed and Gully's chances of getting back into the warm comfort of a human family was destroyed. She's lived on the streets for two years now and she recently joined the Ragdog pack.
