Rev trotted across the rocks that lined the small creek, thinking to herself as usual. Things were extremely quiet, which made her listen even more carefully, she was always on edge and didn't want to be caught off guard. She leaned down taking a drink from the creek, her light pink tongue slowly scooping the water into her mouth. Her ears twitched and her head popped up the moment a squirrel scattered up a tree, she blew air through her noise, making a small huffing noise at the fact she had missed the chance to catch a snack. She laid down, her paws hanging slightly over the edge as she stared at her own reflection in the creek, watching the ripples cause by the feint wind, it was cold, extremely cold, but her thick coat kept her warm. She closed her eyes after a few minutes, but was sure not to fall asleep, keeping her ears pricked as they twitched back and forth almost constantly.
Slick watched Rev for a few moments from his spot in the leaves, he was extremely comfortable and Rev wasn't far enough for him to leave his spot. He was slightly upset about the quiet though, and let out a low, soft bark at nothing in particular. He laid his head down on his paws, his tail thumping against the ground slowly, but fast enough to send the leaves around his tail flying into the air, he was bored again. He growled at his tail once he noticed the fact it was still thumping slowly, after he growled and it didn't stop, he snapped at it slightly, giving it a second chance, again with no avail, within moments he had jumped up and was chasing it in circles barking loudly.

He was relieved that his coat had thickened for the winter, making it easier for the male to stay warm. Winter had never been his favorite season, in honesty he hated it. He wasn't fond of the cold and he really didn't care much for the snow. His dark brown eyes scanned the wintery forest scene. His breathing was relaxed, though his mind and eyes alert. He was feeling a bit hungry and though his travels had led him a bit farther then he had wanted today, he would manage his way back, and manage for the night if he couldn't. He stood, stock still watching, listening, and waiting. He had learned when he was young that silence was the key. Beau wasn't always best when it came to patience but he was improving as he got older. Moving his head his eyes took another scan, his breath being seen within the cold air. Moving forward slowly the male remained alert. The only thing he liked about winter was the peace. In winter it always seemed to be peaceful, and quiet. He liked it for a change it made it easier to hear movement and other creatures. His thoughts drifted back to his first winter, a smile coming to his face as he remembered how queer he thought the snow was. It had been an interesting first winter. What he had missed the most was trying to herd the lambs through the snow, that had been a difficult task, vary difficult. Pausing briefly he stretched, attempting to keep his muscles wide awake. That's when a bark rang out nearby making him freeze and listen. It was a rather low bark, but to him sounded close. He waited a little bit looking in the direction the sound came from trying to decide whether he wanted to go check it out or not. A few moments later a series of louder barks rang out and he had decided to go check it out, just to be sure there was no fights going on. Moving over in that direction, through the snow a fast moving creature began to grow visible up ahead. It looks to be that he was chasing his tail and that there was no sign of any type of fight. Beau let out a bark, neutral tone just to let the other canine know he was approaching.

Rev jumped to her feet instantly when she heard a low bark that she knew could never have come from Slick. She was hoping whomever the noise had come from hadn't seen her. She crept slowly and silently making a wide circle, spotting Beau, unsure if he had seen her or not. Her ears stood still, at full attention, slightly pointed towards the strange dog. Her nose twitching wildly as she smelled the air coming to realize it was a male. She was unsure of what the dog wanted but she knew males could be trouble. She started panting, the white puffs her warm breath made against the bitterly cold air as her heart started to race, she didn't like that he was watching Slick so closely, but the bark hadn't sounded threatening. It was obvious that Slick hadn't noticed the dog or heard him bark, so in an attempt to get both Slick's and the stranger's attention she let out a loud, defensive bark, the tip of her tail flicking back and forth as she watched the male.
Slick didn't seem to hear the low bark coming from just past the edge of the woods. He continued chasing his tail, tripping and biting down hard on his own tail, he let out a high pitched yelp of pain. He whimpered loudly, not even noticing that Rev had wandered off yet, he slunk over to the creek, his paws making soft marks in the snow as he stepped lightly. He stepped into the water, it was shockingly cold, but he cleaned his tail in it anyway, attempting to stop the small amount of bleeding. He hadn't been overly focused on his surroundings until he heard Rev's bark, at this he stood up tall, his ears flicking quickly back and forth, smelling the air and looking all around. His hackles stood straight up as he stepped out of the creek lowering his head, he had caught the smell of the male, but didn't see him or Rev anywhere.

The male hadn't stopped chasing his tail, had Beau barked loud enough? Seeing this he stopped his eyes watching the male bite his tail and yelp before walking back. Beau cocked his head to the left somewhat confused. "Guess he didn't hear me," Beau mumbled to himself. He stood there and watched as the male went out of view. Now what was he to do, he had felt a bit social, but the male had walked away. Beau was considering on turning around and leaving until another defensive bark rang out making him freeze in his spot. His brown eyes shot back and forth looking for the source of the bark. Was this a possible trap? His neck fur bristled at the thought, his claws digging into the ground. His muscles were tensed ready in case there would be an attack. He really couldn't see either of them right now, the newest canine must be hiding in the brush. His blood was pumping a little faster too and he didn't know how he was going to handle this. If he turned his back to leave and he could be attacked. Taking a deep breath his mind buzzed, trying to figure out what to do. "Hello!" He spoke louder this time his tone neutral hoping to turn this potentially bad situation into a better one.

Rev stepped out of the brush slowly, "Hello" her voice was soft, but loud enough to be heard. The dog didn't look threatening so she relaxed a little, but not too much. Her fur still laid in it's natural position, she didn't bother to get herself all worked up over the situation, as it probably wouldn't help any. She watched him with a lot of interest now, wondering who this dog was, where was he from? Why was he all the way out here? She had so many questions, but dared not ask any of them. She was in full sight of the male now, and within a reasonable distance, careful not to be too close, but also not too far. She knew Slick had heard her and would probably be panicking by this point, but that wasn't her concern. Her tail was standing straight in the air, although she didn't trust easy, she was young and loved a little excitement. She took a few steps closer to the male, her coat dusted by the snow that had started to fall in a slow flurry.
Slick was looking around frantically by this point, unsure if she was in trouble or not. He barked a few times, but with no response. He trotted down the creek, believing that's where the bark had come from, not realizing it had come from the woods. Slick was so close to both Rev and Beau and didn't even have a clue. He barked and howled repeatedly as he panicked, he was just praying that should would return his cries, but there was nothing as he trotted along, realizing how cold it was he took cover in some brush, deciding to hold off till the snow stopped and he relaxed some. It would do no good to search while he was panicking and thinking irrationally.

She didn't seem angry or like she had thoughts to attack him. Other then her raised tail she seemed rather relaxed. Beau felt a bit of a relief because he really did not want to fight anyone today, not in this cold crappy weather. Looking up to the sky he saw the flakes of snow slowly falling to the earth, more dreaded cold snow. Looking back to the female he sat down curling his tail around himself. His ears twitched as he heard the male panicking not that far from them and looking into that general direction. Did the male think he was hurting this female? Were they a mated pair? Did they have a pack? "I didn't mean to startle you two I was just in the area and heard your friend barking," he spoke with ease his voice remaining neutral, not sure how to feel about this whole situation still. "Do you live here?" he asked curious if he was walking into a claimed territory or not. It seemed the male had quieted down now and Beau kinda wondered if he was alright or not or if he was planning a surprise show up. It made him a bit tense still but he was trying to not think so negatively.

Rev wagged her tail slightly, she realized this male quite obviously wanted no trouble, and she didn't mind making a new friend. She stretched, her back legs straight behind her as she watched him. "Yes, I'm sorry, he's a bit of a fool at times, he can't seem to help it. But no, we're simply passing through and thought this a nice place to spend a week or so" Her tail was wagging slowly in the snow, sending it flying a bit as she laid down watching him intently. She was extremely intrigued by him, she'd never seen a dog like him before, and she liked new things. She panted excitedly, sending quick puffs of warm vapor into the cold air. She tilted her head slightly at him, deciding she should introduce herself. "I'm Revolution."
Slick whimpered softly as he waited from under the bushes he hid in. It was killing him to wait to go and look for Rev, but he knew he had to. He watched the snowflakes fall as they began to pick up pace, he dug a small hole with his nose out of boredom. He shivered a little, unsure if it was from the cold or his nerves. His tongue flicked a little, it was a nervous tick he always seemed to have, never being able to control it. He looked around listening, but all he heard was the silence, and he hated the silence, but he dare not make a sound.

As his father always said, you can never be to careful when around ones you do not know. Being he was also unfamiliar with the area which is why he decided to remain a bit tense. This female didn't look like a type of canine of course outside of his family and a few different breeds back home he really hadn't met many other canines. So naturally he was curious on her lineage. He listened intently to her and nodded to her words. "Don't apologize, it's not your fault," he started shaking his head lightly. "This place does seem nice, even with this being my first time in this area and I'm sure the trees and brush provide good shelter from this cold." He looked around after he spoke, this place indeed looked like a good place to live. Other then the birds he wasn't sure on how much prey was around though and he could smell a water source nearby. He agreed that they had picked a right choice on where to crash for a few days. Looking back to her she spoke her name and he repeated it within his mind rolling through each letter to be sure he would pronounce it right if he needed to speak it. "Beau, nice to meet you... If you don't mind me asking what breed are you," he said. He didn't see anything wrong with continuing the conversation and hopefully answer some of his curiosities.

The male still looked a bit tense she noticed, probably due to the fact he could no longer see or hear Slick. She crawled a little closer, not bothering to stand up. Her ears flicked as she listened to him, she could see his eyes questioning everything about her and the situation, but she was sure her eyes were exactly the same. She mulled over the question the moment he asked it, it wasn't a personal question, but she still wasn't sure about answering, she knew Slick wouldn't like her speaking to him. "My mother was a wolf, my father a Tamaskan Wolfdog." She hadn't meant for the answer to come out so rushed, she was starting to get nervous as her mind reeled through all the horrible things that could possibly happen to her. This male was slightly bigger then her, as she was on the smaller side herself, but it seemed to be only him, so she figured if things took a turn for the worse she could either outrun him or fight him and win. At least that's what she hoped. In all her deep thinking she hadn't heard Slick creep up behind her, she only noticed it when he let out a low growl. She turned around and snapped at him, letting him know she wasn't in any immediate danger, he relaxed as she bit down on his muzzle. Rev didn't want trouble, she had decided friends could be useful in this kind of world.
Slick felt the wind blowing through his fur, it was strong, even with him being in the brush. He picked up his head smelling the wind, instantly catching the scent of both the male and Rev. He jumped to his feet, trying to come up with a plan. He didn't blend in with his surroundings at all, so he wasn't sure sneaking up on them would be a good choice. He listened for a few moments, he could hear them speaking but couldn't make out what they were saying. He slowly crept into the woods, stepping very lightly, making as little noise as possible. The bitter wind blew through his fur and in his face, making his eyes look a bit glassy. He came up behind Rev, looking at the male, they were all silent, but the male had been watching her. Slick didn't like the slightly tense state of either Rev or Beau, his ears laid flat against his skull the moment the male noticed him. He lowered his head, raising his hackles and let out a low, blood-curdling growl. At this Rev's head quickly turned to see him, and before he could react she was biting down hard on his muzzle, he instantly realized that he had only angered her and she wasn't in any danger. He relaxed, lowering his body to the ground and letting Rev be in charge. His body was completely relaxed as he laid just behind Rev as she laid back down, but still kept a close eye on the male.

He really should learn to trust more, but when your trying to survive trust didn't come easy. He had wandered out here alone and met not one but two dogs. Who knows maybe there was even more hiding somewhere. Though sensing that she was getting a little tense also he was beginning to think he was overreacting. Standing briefly the male shook out his coat, getting rid of the small layer of snow that had begun to pile on top of him. He was starting to feel the chill of it and that's another reason why he wanted to get rid of it. His brown eyes looked back to her as she spoke of the breeds she was. Wolf he knew vary well, although the other she mentioned he hadn't heard of before although it seemed to be a pretty mix, by her looks. "Interesting," he nodded not sure how else to reply to her. Soon he noticed the figure of the male creeping up behind Revolution and it made Beau slowly tense. When his attitude turned threatening, his fur rose on his back and neck and his lips began to peel back, standing his ground. Although the confrontation was changed with Revolution pounced on her friend and quickly put him into place. Beau relaxed falling back into a sit once more and relaxing himself. When the two settled he nodded to the male. "Hello I'm Beau," he greeted.
