[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,480,true] | [atrb=background,http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af20/burnscandles/latinmid_zpsbac8c3be.png] It was late winter and though it was still chilly most days, Latin was graced with a rare bit of sunshine today. She found herself in the large fields and rolling hills that encompassed the western-most part of the city. A slight breeze was blowing which rustled the grasses and the leaves of the solitary tree she currently lounged under.
She had no particular plans for the day, rather taking a rare moment for herself. Latin's mind wondered to her past and all the things that happened in her life. Fate had dealt her a poor hand yet somehow, she remained. Why was it that everyone close to her had left her but she still survived? Did the gods take some sort of perverse torture in taking everything from her and leaving her stripped bare like this? Was she such a terrible individual? All she knew was that it was likely she would be alone for a very long time. Everyone she'd ever loved or who (she hoped) loved her had disappeared. Her wounded heart was still raw and it ached with every passing day. Perhaps, one day, the scars would heal and the ache would slowly, over time, go away. She doubted it though.
But then again, all she could do was try. That's why she was here. She had wondered far from her home in search of something new. Or was she just running away from it all? At this point she couldn't tell. All she knew is that she longed for the company of family again. To curl up together on cold nights or laugh as they ran through the woods together. But who could she trust? What if they left her like her father did? What if they were like those grotesque monsters that killed her brothers and take her? Her misfortunes had made her very wary of others.
Trying to shake the thoughts from her head, because fuck, thinking about it would ruin her day completely, she got up, stretched and moved towards the edge of the tree cover. She sat down again, face to the sun and looked towards the sky. What if this is how it's always going to be? What if it was her destiny to be alone for eternity? | |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,370,true] | [atrb=background,http://i45.tinypic.com/30cowap.jpg] Winter had yet to leave, being the most unfavored of the seasons, to him at least, he was hoping for spring to soon arrive. Though the male really couldn't complain since his coat had filled in nicely this year and was managing to keep him rather warm, he still didn't care for the season. Today though it wasn't as bad, there was still snow on the ground and it was still chilly, but the sun was out on a rare occasion today and the rays of warm light was keeping him toasty. The male knew these fields well and today had come here after visiting with his family at the farm. He had come here to think before he would need to start his travel back to the pack. Discovering today that his close and dear sister had left in search of him and he had yet to run into her, worried the male. He had hoped she was alright and that nothing had happened to her, because if something did he would feel like it was completely his fault. Although back when he had left his mother and father refused to let him take her with him so he chose a close pack so he could stay within distance to travel to see them all.
Sighing lightly the male shifted his paws before laying his head down on them, looking off into the bright distance and letting his mind wonder. Soon a light smile drifted onto his face and his mind drifted back into memories of when he was a pup, when he used to wander here all the time to herd up the sheep and cows that wandered from the farm. It had been one of his favorite jobs and before the apocalypse him and his father both rounded them up for their human family. He could remember the little boys face that had grown so fond of him and his siblings and remembered him chasing them around the farm and playing tug of war. It was a shame they were taken, though this male had been lucky. He knew other canines had lost family during that time and he was lucky that his family survived. Lifting his head the male looked around dark eyes looking for something to distract himself. Standing he stretched himself before moving away from the comfortable spot in the snow.
He trotted through the light layer of snow his eyes and ears alert as he moved along. He didn't have any set plans for the rest of the day, but knew he didn't want his mind to drift into memories all day. For all he knew he could meet another pack member all the way out here, or just simply be by himself the rest of the day. He wouldn't know until the end of the day would come.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,480,true] | [atrb=background,http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af20/burnscandles/latinmid_zpsbac8c3be.png] Latin didn't exactly expect to be bothered by another canine today. All she wanted was a little time to herself to relax, stop thinking for just one afternoon. But then again, nothing ever seemed to go Latin's way anyway.
She saw him coming from a little while away. He trotted casually and he didn't exactly seem like a threat (or was that just because he hadn't noticed her yet?) but, perhaps the most interesting thing about him, was the fact that he clearly resembled Latin. He too had the unusual mottled pelt that she did and the same general features, albeit a bit more masculine. From this distance it looked as if they also both stood at the same height.
Going against everything she stood for, she called out to him, trying to get his attention. "Uh, hi, hello there!" Okay, not her brightest move but he intrigued her. She was curious about the dog that shared such a likeness to her. But, perhaps it was something more. In him, she saw the faintest glimmer of her siblings. She had not seen another like her since their death and she clung to some foolish desire to be with them again. He was in no way related to her but he just looked so similar to her closest brother. It was uncanny and it drew her interest. It was likely that he would be nothing like her brother but still, she was drawn and couldn't quite help it.
So, she waited for him to approach, hopefully he would notice her. Hopefully he would come and talk to her. Hopefully he wouldn't be pissed that she interrupted him. All kinds of thoughts ran through her head, memories of her brothers and father who this stranger so closely resembled. A smile graced her lips as she recalled their lives together and how she had once, so very long ago, been truly happy. But now was not the time to be introspective. Latin was about to meet her brother, no, uh, a stranger.
