AGE: four years. GENDER: male. ORIENTATION: straight. BREED: white shepherd mix. PACK: ragdog royale RANK: king.
APPEARANCE The first thing others notice about Hades are his striking eyes. They are an unusually light, almost white-blue colour. However they hold little beauty. His gaze is cold and calculating, never revealing much about his mood.
His coat is short for the most part, with a few tufts of fluff around his chest and a feathered tail. Initially white, living without humans or bathing has tinged it slightly yellow in places. Hades is not particularly concerned with his appearance, rather concerned with more important matters, so he doesn't spend much time grooming.
Overall he is a lean and tall dog, towering over breeds like labradors and larger spaniels. However, don't let his slight build fool you. He is, in fact, rather strong. He has been known, on occasion, to take down larger prey such as sheep or other livestock alone. However he is by no means brutish, preferring rather to use speed and stealth to take on his opponents.
His ears stand erect atop a broad, square-shaped head. His snout is long and slightly bent towards the nose, lending to an almost "roman" appearance. His nose is pitch black and broad. His jowls are tight, unlike most other hound-type dogs.
PERSONALITY STRENGTHS: well-spoken, coercive, strong-willed, patient, intelligent WEAKNESSES: violent, manipulative, disloyal, mad
Hades really is a complicated fellow. On the outside, he comes across as cruel and cold, but on the inside he is plagued by his past and his actions. Years of living alone have given him much time to think which has left a deep emotional scar. In many ways, his thoughts have driven him mad for, at times, he becomes almost psychotic. He is a selfish dog, doing only what suites him and willing to do anything to further his own goals. To the outsider, this sort of nature may seem poorly fit for a pack leader but the other members of the pack have adopted this sort of selfishness as their own which, in some perverted way, makes Hades immensely proud.
He is aloof and very rarely shows his emotions unless, that is, if his emotion is anger. His mild insanity is triggered by anger and he becomes incredibly vicious at times. He is malicious at heart, willing to step on anyone who gets in his way. He is an intellectual mind and quick to conceptualize schemes and tricks. He does not speak much, but when he does he is eloquent and chooses his words carefully.
When in battle, he chooses a quick and merciless style. His actions are similar to that of a snake, striking with agility and often. He is incredibly nimble on his feet and he prides himself on this. He likes to think that he could kill another before they even knew what was happening.
HISTORY Hades has been a stray for all his life. He was born to a promiscuous bitch after a short fling in a back alley in some unremembered city. He traveled with his mother from city to city until the age of one. Over time, he grew restless with his mother's lifestyle. He was unhappy with her constant affairs with other dogs who would, in most cases, abuse his mother and him both physically and mentally. This led him to grow increasingly violent towards her suitors. One day, a particularly large dog approached his mother and he snapped. He launched at the other dog, attacking him. The battle was bloody and Hades barely escaped with his life but, in the end, the other canine lay dead on the floor.
At that moment, something changed in him and it didn't go unnoticed in his mother's eyes. He grew quiet and bitter. One day, his mother confronted him about it and, by that stage, Hades had all but lost his mind and attacked his mother, ripping at her jugular and killing her in a blind rage. When he realized what he had done, his visage cracked and he broke down in a fit. He ran from the scene and kept running, running, running. From then on, he's spent his days living from week to week, drifting in and out of the area. It was only recently, with the sudden appearance of a few dogs willing to follow his lead that Hades decided to start a pack and make a permanent home here.
