okay that's nice to know, tell us more?
okay that's nice to know, tell us more?
APPEARANCE:A big, big dog; Serrate has the bulk of a Chow and the height and athleticism of a German Shepherd. Her coat is thick, especially so considering her breed mixture; large skull, snowshoe paws, and a maw full of teeth that'd put the wolves to shame. Serr's fur is as dark as night, with no glossy shine; it just takes in light, and light is lost in her.
There is a myriad of scars decking out her body; this from a fight with Ouija, a large white hound which Serrate ran afoul of in a competition of dominance. Ouija left her with the bite scar on her back; the tearing scar on her nape-- two scratched in scars on her left shoulder, and the huge facial scar that took her sight away. Despite Serrate’s bulky frame, Ouija was a powerhouse, and it was by sheer chance that Serr managed to defeat her.
In regards to her sight, Serrate has done surprisingly well without it. She has managed to get on fine, reliant completely on her ears and excellent smell in order to hunt. In fact, some might not know she was blind, watching her in action. However, she does need to sniff her way around new surroundings in order to memorize it.
PERSONALITY:Serrate’s personality is comprised of an abrasive demeanor, a snappy attitude, intelligence derived from experience in a hard life, and the ambition to be a leader in all things. She has never been considered a lighthearted or kind soul, but she is not cruel nor insensitive. The large hound may snap out at you, but she will never do so in a malicious or demeaning manner. With the life that she has lived, and the experiences she has been through, Serrate has tried to pass on her knowledge to other young, naïve dogs. Despite the bitterness she lives with from her mauling, and the loss of her sight, she tries not to let this show too much; she doesn’t believe in living with revenge or anger in the heart.
This belief gave her a push to try to create order in a chaotic world, to give peace to those caught up in conflict and unrest. To stand tall even while the world crumbles around her. She tries to quiet the inner turmoil in her own soul by finding her way through the outer turmoil in the blackened world she can no longer see. Serrate may not seem so intelligent, or wise, or nice, or deep—but she means well, and she’s been through a lot.
HISTORY:Serrate was never an owned dog. She was a stray, a dropped pup from an unwanted litter—they relied on each other to survive, and survive they did. For a long time, it was just three lone puppies against a big, tough world. However.. it got much tougher. Life went on, they scrapped to get by—they grew to be adults, and went their own ways, never knowing a friendly human touch or home. After a long time, Serrate even wanted to say they forgot one another; the world was so lonely. So large, and unforgiving. A world she couldn’t hope to conquer by herself.
Then, the disasters came. The world began to fall, to the harsh, unforgiving hand of mother nature—and Serrate did what she could to get out of her way. She’d never run so hard, fought so hard, or worked so hard to stay alive, even whenever she was living day by day as a stray dog. All she wanted was to survive, and survive she did—although she is not sure if her brothers met an untimely end, or made it out, just as she did. Serrate worries for them, sometimes. However, if the apocalypse has taught her anything, it is that it’s never a good idea to hold too strongly onto hope that death can touch..
