[atrb=background,http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af20/burnscandles/latinmid_zpsbac8c3be.png] THE BASICS NAME: latin. AGE: three years. GENDER: female. ORIENTATION: straight. BREED: australian cattle dog mix. PACK: none. APPEARANCE Were it not for the scars that litter her lower back and underbelly, Latin may have been a pretty dog. Thankfully, most of those scars are covered by a thick feathering of white fur on her stomach. The scars on her lower back, though not as large, are not as well hidden. Speaking of fur, hers is short and coarse in most areas but soft around her chest and belly. It's colour is an interesting array of mottled black on grey with slight browning around her muzzle and eyebrows. Her legs fade to an off-white colour as do her chest and stomach. Her tail is also long and heavily feathered. Perhaps her most striking feature are her light blue eyes and her pretty pink tongue. She is a robust dog, able to withstand being knocked down and recovering quickly. She is well-muscled but the fact that she is tall hides that fact. Speaking of height, Latin is much taller than the average cattle dog, standing at about the height of a husky. Overall, her posture lacks confidence and she is in no way feminine. PERSONALITY STRENGTHS: persistent, stubborn, devious, intelligent WEAKNESSES: sarcastic, anti-social, annoying, hot-headed No one ever said Latin was easy to get along with. In fact, it's rather difficult. She has a tendency to be very forward and will say whatever is on her mind. Normally, this might seem like a good trait, but the problem is Latin lacks any sort of tact when it comes to what she has to say. She has a tendency to be anti-social. This doesn't mean that she hates other dogs, she simply would just rather busy herself with other things besides idle conversation with others. The main reason for this is that, until now, she's never really met another dog that she actually liked. As far as she is concerned, everyone else in an asshole. She's very quick to judge others and, more often than not, those judgements are quite negative. Providing for her family for such a long time has left her quick on her feet and street smart. She is a somewhat good hunter but finds it much easier to scavenge. She's also a very good organizer and is good at delegating tasks. She actually has slight OCD when it comes to everything being arranged. Because of this, she is also a fastidious groomer and always makes sure she is clean and tidy. She is not afraid to get dirty, but will clean up immediately afterwards. Probably one of her most prominent points is the fact that she has massive daddy issues. When her father left the family, she began to resent him and slowly it grew into a bitter distaste for males in general. She believes all males are pigs and they don't deserve families if they're just going to leave them like her own did. HISTORY Latin has never had it easy in life. She was and always will be a street dog. Her mother, a mutt, fell in love with a pure bred working dog. Every day she would make her way to the farm where her lover lived. They would run away together for the afternoon but at the end of each day, like all good things, it came to an end. Father returned to the comfort of the ranch house and Mother would return to the cold, dark alleyways. Over the years, their love grew ever stronger and one day, Father proposed that they elope. They did and things were great for a while. Mother bore puppies and the happy family lived together in peace for a year. But the event that took the humans changed all that. Secretly, Father still longed for his old life, still had a deep connection with his humans. When the earth beneath their feet shook and the dying screams of people could be heard, he bolted straight back to the farm, leaving his little family behind. His family never did find out that he was killed by a falling tree on his way back. Mother was heartbroken and Latin believes this is what ultimately killed her. Being the eldest of the litter, she took to caring for her siblings. Over the years she grew bitter towards both her father for leaving her and her mother for giving up. But like all tragic life stories, it got worse. One day while out hunting, the little family was ambushed. Unbeknownst to them, they had stepped into a tyrant's territory. Two of her siblings had died instantly. The other three fought for their lives but ultimately they were fatally wounded. They died slowly, in agony. Of course, it would be worse still. Three male dogs pinned Latin down and attempted to rape her, all the while she had to watch as her fallen brothers lay dying. Perhaps it was a miracle or perhaps it was the fact that her attackers were worn out from battle, but somehow Latin managed to throw them off before they even began. She ran, further and faster than she ever had before. Tears tore from her eyes, the air burning in her lungs and her legs growing ever weary, she continued running well into the night. But fate would have it that she found herself here, somewhere completely foreign and strange. Perhaps it was a chance to start anew, but somehow Latin doubts that tragedy will ever leave her. |
