Kez looking at life through my own eyes The low grass cussioned her pawsteps as she stalked over the hill covered old land. The masters' building in the back of the land was broken and falling apart and the large animals the masters used to own still wandered the land. They were easy prey as they still barely knew to fend for themselves. The masters had only been gone two years. No one had forgotten them yet, not even Kez herself. A distant low tone alerted Kez that her food was near by and she crept closer, wishing that it was the winter months where she would blend in perfectally.
As the creature stepped into view, the silver brindle akita licked her lips and smirked as she waited. Squareing her shoulders, Kez let her chest touch the ground as she got ready to take off into the hunt. Her tightly curled tail wagged in anticipation and her ears pressed back in readyness. Kez lept toward her target with a loud snarl and bit into it's shoulder. It knocked her off and she lept back again, this time latching onto it's hind end. The animal rolled and knocked the akita off, causing her to gasp. Just as she stood, the animal decided to attack, coming after Kez with horns.
This was exactly what Kez wanted. She steadied herself and jumped over it's lowered head onto it's back, biting onto it's neck and trying to keep a hold. It ran into the side of the half broken master house and knocked through the wall, forcing kex into the ground where she let go and jumped away from the horns.
"God damn it!" Knowing she would be in trouble if she got caught under the thing, Kez still risked it, running and dodging under the head to grab onto the underside of it's neck. This time she wouldn't let go, but how long would it be until it tired and died? Kez couldn't hold forever and her sides stung from running into the house. She just hoped it's injuries helped to tire it out before she tired and had to let go. Searching for a hero to idolize

[style=border-top: 5px dotted black; width: 370; font-size: 10px; margin-left: 83px; margin-top: -140px;]With her eyes closed, the young chihuahua was strolling over the grass, enjoying the feel of it beneath her pawpads. She giggled softly, her tail wagging back and forth as she flopped down on the ground. She curled up into a ball, sighing happily. Although at times she missed her master, she couldn't help but enjoy her life being the free dog she always wanted to be. Almost as soon as slumber took her, she heard a noise. Her ears stood straight, her eyes opening in a flash and she lifted her head, looking around. The same noise was made and she bolted to her feet.
Heading towards the noise slowly, she wondered what it was. She was a small, petite dog and couldn't do much damage, so why she was heading towards the noise? She honestly had no idea. Her black fur swayed with the soft breeze of the wind. She noticed a horned animal, and then a dog jumping over it. She cocked her head, curious. Was this animal prey to the dog?
She wasn't sure what to do. She wanted to help, but how? Cookie decided to slowly sneak over to the two. Once she had found a perfect distance, she leaned her muzzle close and bit the paw of the animal, chomping hard on it, squeezing her eyes shut and hoping she was helping, and not making matters worse.

Kez Looking at life through my own eyes The animal screamed once bitten and attemped to kick which only made it fall to the ground. Knowing her chance, Kex bit down hard and tore open the throat with her fangs. This hunt had not been easy and she flopped over once the animal stopped struggling and died. It was a moment before she could look around to see what had caused her prey to fall. When the bear dog's eyes settled on the chihuahua, her own fur stood on end in slight embarasement. Such a small dog had helped her so greatly. It was an insult to her master's training, but still, Kez couldn't have killed it if her company hadn't come along it. "Thank you, stranger. Are you hurt? How did you trip it?" Being as courtious as she could, Kex stood once more and stepped over to the tiny dog. A glint of amusement shown in her eyes as she spoke "You are fierce and brave for one so small. I owe you a meal for your help. Care to join me?" As proud as Kex was, she knew that thanks were in order. The culture of her heratige demanded it. Kez turned back to her prey and bit into the tough hide. "I am Kez, a trained hunter from a place called japan by the masters." It was true. She remembered being sent to america for her masters. It was an odd memory. When the reply came, Kez nodded and swiped her tongue over her bloody muzzle. It was nice to eat again. It had been a few days since she had eaten and it had shown in this hunt. Back when she fed every day, Kez could have knocked over a bear. Now....well she got lucky with the bull. Speaking of bull, Kez was injured. Her sides burned and caused breathing to be painful, although she tried not to show it. "I do believe I got lucky when you helped me. That bull was more than I expected. Next time, I will go for smaller prey."Searching for a hero to idolize

Cookie smiled, watching the animal fall then the stranger able to take it down. She had done good, and was proud of herself. Her tail wagged behind her as she watched the dog fall to the ground. Standing there, she yapped happily, once she saw Kez notice her. She wasn't one who usually was helpful, although she always tried. She sat down on the ground, leaning her head back to yawn slightly. The bite had hurt her jaw a little, and tired her out a bit, she overall, she was happy she could help. Upon hearing a voice, she averted her attention back to Kez and chuckled lightly.
"I'm okay. My jaw is a little sore, but that's alright. And really to be honest, all I did was bite it's leg. It really was quite easy." She responded, licking her front paw before looking up at the larger dog. She laughed again, shaking her head. "You're mistaken. I get frightened easily. I was scared and debating whether to help you. So if you call that brave, then we have different definitions. But thank you for the compliment. As for the meal, no thank you. I'm not big into eating animals. I only do when I'm starving." She watched Kez bite into the animal and felt a shiver go down her spine. "Nice to meet you Kez. Japan? What is that like? Or do you not remember that? Oh I'm Cookie by the way." She smiled a goofy grin,
"I think that might be a wise decision." She giggled, before standing back up on her paws and heading over towards Kez. She stared at the female, softly nuzzling the side of her face. "You alright?" She was concerned that she had been injured. She walked around the dog, trying to see if she could notice anything outwardly if anything was wrong with Kez.

"Courage and bravery aren't about feeling no fear. They are about fighting fear and doing what must be done. Being as small as you are, you could have been trampled. I'd call helping me brave." The akita shook her pelt and shrugged, letting a yawn escape her own maw. "Cookie...cute name. I was very young, smaller than you, when I was taken here. I remember very little of my home." It took a moment for her to think of a memory from that early in her life. "I remember the cold and snow deeper than my mother. I remember the humans training us early and saying I was special, but no more than that."
Twiching her nose at the thought of a dog that didn't eat meat, Kez had to chuckle as Cookie's goofy grin and huff at the small dog's concern. There was nothing wrong with Kez besides a little soreness and a cut on her side from the wood in the house. It wasn't deep, but it bled enough to look worse than it was. "I am sore, but fine. I am still proud to say I haven't lost one kill in my lifetime." Proud was an understatement. The larger female puffed out her chest and drug her tongue over one brindle paw.

Cookie stared at Kez, lost in thought as she took in what the female was saying. Courage and bravery was about fighting fear? She smiled a little, agreeing what she had just said. "You know? That sounds right. It's smart actually. But thank you for calling me brave. Means a lot." She said as she bowed her head in respect to the canine. Cookie watched as the Akita yawned then heard her short story. "So you were trained? What exactly to do? Hunt?" She asked, figuring that was it, as she had saw how badly she had wounded the animal she had helped taken down.
Cookies eyes widen in surprise. "So every animal you've fought, you've won? That's awesome!" She exclaimed, giggling slightly. She sat in awe at the female, smiling. "I just think that's amazing. Seriously. I don't know how you could do that. I've chased the occasional bunny and have managed to kill it, but only when I was completely starving and there was nothing else I could eat. Do you normally go after something as big as this one?" She asked, turning her head over to look at the dead animal.

Kez The akita inu puffed out her chest and sat taller, smirking at the praise. "The masters had a boomstick that helped me when I hunted very big prey, but I always did the work." Kez comented proudly, tail wagging in satisfaction. The thought that this small dog, a mouse compaired to Kez's size, had killed was amusing to the large dog, but not unheard of. There were many small dogs used to hunt, just none as small as this pup. "Rabbits are fast, difficult prey. You are well to keep up with them." Kez did enjoy a conversation with Cookie. She was confident and interesting, unlike any smaller dog she had met before. "I am glad to be having a conversation with you. It is interesting. Tell me, where do you come from? What did the masters do with you?"

Cookie stared at the Akita, watching her chest puff out and she couldn't help but allow a grin to spread over her face as she struggled to not laugh. This dog was boasting, but she had reason to do so. "What's a boomstick?" As smart as Cookie was, she had a lot to learn about other different areas and teachings other dogs grew upon. She listened as Kez said rabbits were fast and difficult prey. She chuckled and shook her head. "Not entirely. You just trick them. It's easy, they aren't really that smart once you watch and notice which way they always run. They always seem to go right first, so you just have to be a little quicker to catch them at the right moment." She responded, her ears sticking up.
Cookie smiled, and nodded her head at Kez. "I enjoy speaking with you. It's interesting, hearing about your life, even if it is about hunting." She heard her ask a few questions about herself and she wondered what she should share. "I came from a wonderful home. My human was a vet, so tons of other animals came in and out of my home. She tended to bigger canines most the time, so I never was around smaller animals, or I guess animals my size. So I always believed I was a "big" dog. But my bark is bigger than my bite." She couldn't help but giggle at her own joke. "My master loved me. We always cuddled and watched movies together on the couch or the bed. I guess I was well taken care of. I was her baby, and she was my mother. She found me when I was younger. She raised me. I never knew a life besides that."

Kez Looking at life through my own eyes "A boomstick is a long, shiny stick that some masters take with them into the woods. It makes a sound something fierce. It is louder than thunder and when the masters use it, holes appear in their prey." It was a solmn description as Kez remembered having to get used to it. "For the longest time, I did not like the boomstick. The master would get angry with me when I ran from it or jumped because of it's loudness."Hearing Cookie's description of her home made Kez nod and smile. "It sounds easy and fun. I did not get as much attention, but my bed was warm and my belly was full. I enjoy the work I was trained for. It is a pitty to be without the masters. They made life...interesting." There was a soft smile on Kez's maw as she shook and streached. "The sun is falling. I have a den near by, perhaps you would not be against shairing?"Searching for a hero to idolize
